***************** WARNING ******************
Halloween events are deadly, ask anyone who's been to one. The whole point of the event is to try and stay alive. They're exciting, but don't expect ANYTHING you encounter to be a fair fight. Now, I don't want to scare people into not attending, because they really are a ton of fun and unlike any other UW event throughout the year.. but out of fairness I feel I should state this warning.
If you have any major issues with your character dying, I suggest you either NPC or play a secondary character. Although I personally encourage everyone to attend and play their main character, I don't want to be flooded with emails after the event by people who are complaining that their favourite character died because they got eaten by a lich/dragon/uber-death-elemental-demon-lord. You won't meet any Gods or Aspects, but I promise you that no matter what level you are you're going to meet something that can mess you up pretty good without batting an eyelash.
It was a Halloween event that the motto "RUN -- FIGHT -- HIDE" came from.
Surviving a Halloween event without a death is something to be proud of. Don't expect plot to understand the term "fair" at this event, and don't think that your circles of power or wards will prevent you from getting killed. With all this said, Halloween events at Underworld are some of the most intense larp experiences you can have. EVERYONE has stories to tell about Halloween events they've PC'ed.
And although we might be cruel and heartless to your characters, we will always remember that you're paying customers who deserve fairness and respect on an out of game level, even as that lich is eating your arm.
So. Don't say you weren't warned.
Perhaps now would be a good time for people who have pc'ed or been on plot to discuss their experiences on Halloween events so that those who haven't been to one will understand just how wicked this way comes. It's hard to explain on an out of game level "Oh, it's crazy. But you'll have fun.".
Anyone got stories to share?
